Fresh back from our annual trip east, I now have many images to post. The great part of Cape Breton is not really the tourist areas but the places you search out and the stories that come with them. This landscape is an abandoned lookout from WWII and is one of the several remains that can be found all around the coastal areas. Never removed, many of them have become places for kids to vandalize and party.
The erosion around this battery has been gradually making this more isolated and careful footing is required to get across the opening and the 40 foot (I estimate anyways) are intimidating to say the least. From the outer cliffs we could see jellyfish wading in the clear ocean waters.
